John Madden Football

Secret to Success: John Madden Football was a huge coup for EA when it was released. Madden was probably the biggest name they could have gotten, and it started the franchise we know and love today. The reason the first game was so great is two fold. One is because it was on the Genesis. For some reason, the Super Nintendo version just wasn't as good. Two was the game itself. Nobody had ever seen a football game with a behind the quarterback 3/4 perspective before. This changed the way all football games since have been made.

Memorable Moments: 90 yard passes to Jerry Rice. Really the only team to take in this game is San Fran. And the only play you really need is the Hail Mary. Oh, and if you happen to block the extra point, and take it back for a touchdown, plan on the other team getting the points, and you kicking it off to them again. It's one of the more humorous bugs I've seen in a game.
