Ah, I finally got my new car. And I love it. I think the sunroof and CD player are my favorite parts, though just the fact that it runs is pretty awesome too. I'm driving it way too much however. It's funny, I'll just find excuses to go do something (oh! I think I need to go to Best Buy even though I have no money!) and drive around. I should probably stop that, or it'll be time for an oil change after my first week with it.

Well, the good old Nissan Sentra finally died. Though it chose a bad time to do it, while I was on my way to SNC. Luckily it broke down before I got out of MN. I had it towed away never to see it again. I had that car for 7 years, so it was obviously hard to see it go, even if it was a piece of crap. But, I went out and got a new car to replace it. A shiny new 1999 Honda Civic. All I need is my loan to go through, and to get insurance and I'll get the car. It sucks that I'll have to pay a ton of money for it every month, but at least when I go out to St. Norbert for graduation I'll make it there and back.

It's off to good old SNC this weekend once again. It's Andy's birthday so I need to go out there to drink. I've been trying to change a few things up with vitaflo. Move some shit around so it's easier to use and so there's more stuff to look at. Just make it more "proffesional" I guess. Things shouldn't change much. There will be less pop-up windows though. Most of it is done now, I just want to redo the Journal page (the name of that page will change as will the names of most pages), and then set up a database so I can just type in my journal entry on the net and then hit submit and the site updates on it's own, instead of me hand coding each journal entry. I'm hoping to get that done by the time The Phantom Menace comes out. In the meantime, you get what you see now.

Ah, finally. We have a winner in the "name that video game" contest. It was submitted by Matt Kohout (aka Phlappes). The character hanging from the ropes in the intro to the Top 25 is from Donkey Kong 3. Many people guessed Donkey Kong or Donkey Kong Jr, and like I said, it was a little harder than that. Anyway, as a prize for his knowledge, I'm gonna link to Phlappes' bio, that was on this site back when Version 4 was around. Thanks to all those who wrote in.

Ok, so nobody can guess it. In the current episode on the intro page, there's a character hanging on some ropes. This character is from a specific game. I sent a challenge out to all those that have subscribed to name what exact game this image is from. Everyone has thus far been wrong. The prize is getting a mention in a journal update as well as a link to your site (if you have one). See what great things happen when you subscribe? Now I'm letting anyone out there guess it. If you guess right, your name is in lights. Send you guess to brent@vitaflo.com.

I was able to test out a new monitor last night before I went home. It was a 21" one. I didn't like it at all. Most people would die for a 21" monitor, but to me it was just too big. So then I traded with someone who had a 17" Trinitron. The only problem being that I sit next to this wall that has all these electric shit running through it. It basically pumps out pure cancer all day long, which interferes with monitors. The old monitor I had (just a stock Dell) worked fairly well, but the Trinitron was fucked up. It had all sorts of gray lines on the left hand side. So after all of that I went back to my standard old monitor. Not the greatest, but the best I've found thus far. I just wish I could find one that's as good as my Mac monitor. That this is awesome. I suppose the best thing about it all is that I also got a new mouse. It's got one of those fancy wheels so I can use it to scroll. I love it already. And when I click the wheel it slows the pointer down, which is great for doing stuff in programs like Illustrator.

Well I can't say there's much new going on. Or at least there isn't anything worth writing about. I am getting excited for The Phantom Menace though. The only problem is that I keep having dreams that the movie will just really suck. I so hope it doesn't, but I worry. With this much excitement built up around it, how could it live up to expectations? I don't think people even have expectations other than this is supposed to be the best film ever made. I don't know if it can be. But I do plan on seeing it 10 or 20 times.

I'm in a rut. There's a few things that I need to buy before 2000, and I'm having some trouble. One is a foosball table. That's easy. I just go down to All American Recreation and buy the best one they got. Another is surround speakers. I already have my Cerwin Vega's picked out, so that's not tough. The real kicker is buying a new computer. I know it'll be a Mac, but what kind? Do I get and iMac or a G3? Or do I wait until the new Powerbooks come out and get one of those? Decisions. Part of me wants a G3 cuz it's more of a geek toy, but when I can get an iMac for so cheap, it makes me wonder. Hmmmm....

Well, Jason Kottke over at 0sil8 has done it again. About a week or so ago he put up his latest episode entitled "Simply Porn". It was a spoof on the "Simply Palm" ads made by 3Com showing off their new Palm V being held by a nude model. Jason decided to parody the ads and show off a little more flesh in the process. The result? He gets a call from 3Com's lawyers telling him to remove the material because of trademark infringement or be sued. So he does. However, now the story is out and all sorts of news sites (news.com, salon.com) are reporting on it and let me tell you, he's getting mad phat traffic. I'm sitting here looking at his logs and they're just flying by. He got 1000 unique visitors in 45 minutes. In contrast, vitaflo.com gets about 500 per month. Now we just need to get this story up on Slashdot and see what happens. ;)
