+ Wednesday - December 23, 1998

Well, this is the last day I'll be updating the journal on this site until Jan 6th. Tomorrow morning I leave to go back to my hometown of Sturgeon Bay, WI for Christmas. Then on Monday I'm leaving with my friend Phlappes on our big trip to London to celebrate New Years. Right now I'm trying to get as much info as I can about the place so I don't go nuts trying to figure everything out. I got some British Pounds today and I must say the exchange rate sucks. $70 gets me £40. But it's a start, and I figure I'll use my credit card anyway most of the time. I am excited though. I've really never been anywhere before so this will be big. I'm sure I'll enjoy it. Maybe I'll go on sabbatical sometime and move there for a year. Ok, so now I'm just talking. Well, I hope everyone has a safe and happy Holiday season, regardless of what holiday you celebrate. I'll return on the 6th!!

+ Monday - December 21, 1998

Ok, I hate snow and I hate cold. Temperature at 11:17am, -3. Windchill -35. Can it get any colder? I mean what happened to that good old greenhouse effect? I see it's about 40 in London. Thank god I'm going there for a week. Watch it be like 60 here when I'm gone. I leave in a week and I haven't even thought about it at all. Too much stuff on the mind lately. That's a good thing though. Since I've never flown before, I know it'll be a little hairy. I think it will be nice to get outta here and see something new. I'm worried that I'll end up liking it there too much and won't want to come home, but that's probably only because it'll be warm there.

+ Wednesday - December 16, 1998

Well, today is one of the first days we've had where it has snowed in Minneapolis. And what's the date today? Dec 16? It's funny that when I came out here everyone thought I'd be freezing and in twelve feet of snow. Hmmm...I don't seem to remember any snow staying on the ground yet since I've been here, however I do remember that a week or so ago it got up to about 65. While I love the first snow, my feelings on it are mixed. It's about time it comes, and it's Christmas and all, but I am not too willing to experience rush hour city traffic in a blizzard. Oh wait, I did that once in Chicago. To bad it was one of the worst experiences of my life. What would be nice is a huge blizzard over a weekend, so I can go sledding and jump around like I did last year. Dead Man's anyone?

+ Monday - December 14, 1998

I officially hate Christmas. Well, not the day itself, but rather the shopping part. I've never been one to do a lot of shopping for Christmas, and what I did do was easy shopping. Now that I have a real job and some disposable income, I like going out every once and a while to see if there's anything I find cool. Lately I just want the new Zelda game for my Nintendo, but guess what? Nobody has it. Ok, well then, let's see what these Lego Mindstorms are all about. Oh, what's that? They won't be in stock for another week? Fine. I'll just look at Spawn figures. Oops, all out of those too. Now I'm stuck looking at those perversely demented Teletubbies, and that fat bastard Barney. What is this world coming to?

+ Sunday - December 13, 1998

What a weekend. Susan and I did have a ton of fun. It was really great, although it had to be cut a little sort cuz I had to come into work. So of course I missed the Packer game. But the weekend was nice. We didn't do a whole lot, went shopping, went out to eat, went to a bar, showed her were I worked, talked a lot. I was looking forward to this weekend for a while now and it was better than I expected which is really cool. I just wish I could have weekends like this more often. But there will be other times I'm sure.

+ Friday - December 11, 1998

Ah, Friday's. Gotta love them. I'm really anticipating this weekend, because my friend Susan is coming to visit me. Should be fun, especially since she's never been out here before. It'll be your typical shop for Christmas stuff weekend, but with Susan it's always fun. Now if only the day could go by a little faster so I can get out of work and go drink some beer.

Welcome to vitaflo.com version 4. Normally I'd have some off the wall story about something rather stupid printed in here, but today is my day of rest. There's more than enough to see in the rest of the site right now. This will be updated every so often (usually every day, or every other day, sometimes longer).
