Star Control

Secret to Success: Star Control was ahead of its time. Back in the day, not many people were into playing a huge strategy game that had multiple races fighting over vast distances. Today with the onslaught of Command and Conquer and Warcraft clones that's changed. What's so great about this game? It's just fun. You fly around different points in space and battle it out with other ships. It's like Street Fighter II in outer space, complete with special moves (or in this case, secret weapons). It's simple yet amazingly entertaining.

Memorable Moments: It's weird, but one of the things I majorly remember is actually being able to figure out the star chart. It sorta rotated in this 3D way and it was tough to figure out where you were. And of course knowing where you were was key to winning. What was really hard was that when you thought you figured out where you were, the star field would all of a sudden look like it was rotating the opposite way, totally throwing you off. It was nuts to say the least.
